Your Time Matters

Time Invested is More Valuable than both Diamonds and Gold

Are you looking to make a good impression or build a stronger relationship?

Personal or Business, there is no substitute for time.

Some will spend a small fortune trying to catch the attention of others. This is true in the dating world and the business landscape.

For the sake of this article I’m focusing on things that are related to business.

Building New Relationships

Let’s start with the catching the attention of prospects and potential clients. There are many who spend thousands of dollars each and every month on advertisements and advertising campaigns but literally nothing on organic outreach via social media engagement. This is like sending the one you want to date presents but never talking to them. Can it work? Sure, but a bit of attention can go a lot further.

Imagine spending a lot less money and increasing the amount of new traffic you generate to your website. How? The world has become less and less personal, so when companies make an effort to engage with their target audience, it is very well received.

Phone calls, letters, video meetings, interactive technology and social media all can be used to help connect in a more personal way with the audience. This personal interaction helps to build brand awareness, set you apart from the competition and drive precious prospects your way. The attention helps not only with direct interest from people you engage with, but also helps generate referrals from newly established brand ambassadors. The folks who appreciate what you do, but don’t need what you offer right now can be your best source of future business as they champion your cause to their sphere of influence.

Social Media Engagement

One of the best ways to invest your time and perhaps a portion of your marketing budget is in Social Media Marketing (SMM). Your social media manager needs to do more than just create a well-crafted post for you. The social media manager is to be in most cases the voice behind your brand, spending as much as 80% of their time engaging in comments of posts across all of social media.

Why? Because most people will not notice your PR posts. They will notice the way your company engages with them, especially in response to one of their comments on your posts. The brand voice should reflect the company, but it should not simply be a dry or sterile corporate messenger. What you need is to help show the audience that you care about people, you value their thoughts, you help to encourage them. The companies who do this the best, will make the most headway without spending tens of thousands of dollars a month on Google Ads.

Time Invested is Rarely Wasted

How many have spent thousands of dollars on a marketing, branding or sales campaign only to be left wondering where the positive results went? Moving the needle on ad campaigns can be a bit of a guessing game. For my money, I’d rather spend my resources paying attention directly to consumers via my efforts, my staff’s efforts and even sourcing folks to help.  Hiring people to be brand champions and influencers can be a great way to get fast results, as long as they are engaging in a positive and proactive way on your company’s behalf. That high priced video, the ad campaign, that new print campaign can be very expensive and yield disappointing ROI.

How much time are you spending engaging your clients after the purchase? Brand loyalty comes many times after the first sale. How well did the product or service meet the expectations is a part of it no question. The other major factor is how well a brand did connecting to the client during and/or right after the transaction was made. Is someone following up with your clients to ask what they think and how they feel. Are they asking for suggestions on what could be done better? Do you ask them how they found out about you in the first place?

Technology to the Rescue

You can use technology to help you as seen here in this video:

Voice Express is helping their clients with pre and post sales communications, utilizing an AI tool that listens and responds to your clients as it communicates your message to them based on their experience. There’s No Substitute

If you’re looking to catch more attention and build the strength of your brand, you’ll find there is no substitute for time. You can spend time talking to your audience. Many should encourage and reward their staff to do the same. If you don’t have a business social media manager, you should look at hiring one, either as a full time or factional employee. (List your opening for free on https://projecthelpyougrow.com)

Why? There is simply no substitute for time. If you want to show people you care, it takes personal engagement. You might be surprised how much a simple response to a comment on LinkedIn or an answer to an email can make. People who talk to their customers can drive a lot of business to their websites and ultimately that pays off in higher sales. Not only does it generate higher sales today, but it builds in brand loyalty that can ensure a bright future for the future.

If you want help running your social media management, I’d be happy to talk to you, as I run Bowman Digital Media and we have a variety of SMM packages to help small and medium size business owners get more out of their branding, marketing, advertising and sales efforts. Learn more about our offerings at Bowman Digital Media using this link:
